western sky

midday at the svörtuloft lighthouse, snaefellsnes, iceland

this is the sky hinted at in the right side of the Malarrif sky shot, which was taken an hour or so later and closer to twilight.

this was the most surreal portion of a surreal trip: the sky was a phenomenal orange colour, the svörtuloft lighthouse echoed the colour of the clouds, the tremendous landscape was entirely empty - just ocean, sky, snow and scattered volcanic rocks. the thin ribbon of smooth snow running through the scattered volcanic rocks is the road: no tracks leading to the lighthouse and only our own leading out.
