Trolls Church Blowing Snow

@k@: This particular lava formation felt remarkably... alive. Definitely a place for spirits!

@6ft5: Glad this shot sparked your interest - I always appreciate thoughtful feedback. The dramatic clouds were low on the horizon and the sky above was blue: I cropped some nearground and blue sky from the original.

I'm no expert at pp, so used simple techniques on this shot: set white balance, bumped up exposure for the foreground, and adjusted levels and vibrance. Feel free to play around with the shot - I'd love to see your interpretation.

If you like exciting skies you might like these shots: Sun Eye, Valhalla, The Blessed Sun, The Storm Rolls In (Tröllakirkja is visible in the background), or any number of the other Iceland shots. Iceland has incredible light and wild fast-moving storm systems: we literally sat and watched the sky for over an hour one afternoon. It was freezing but well worth it!
