Orcas at Play

while in BC I had the opportunity to go whale watching. we were very lucky and saw a large group of transient (meat-eating) orcas who were frolicking and socializing and generally having a good time. this is a shot of part of the pod with the lighthouse at race rocks ecological reserve in the background. along with the adults this group had a baby calf - you can see her splashing around on the right.
