Urban View VII : Saturday Morning East Van

this is a shot of a very ordinary day in east vancouver - a relaxed artsy hipster locale.

vancouver is an outdoor-oriented environmentally-friendly city. it is very bike-friendly and has one of the best public transport systems in north america. most buses have bike racks, enabling vancouverites to combine these two virtues.

this is a typical vancouver scene: lots of cyclists , overhead electric power lines for the buses, ubiquitous coffee shops (caffeine is a staple of the local diet), and the omnipresent cloud-soaked north shore mountains in the background.
